New and regular content is coming, beginning in January 2020. I've been diligently studying other YouTube channels and trying to figure out how I might possibly add to the conversation. After ditching a number of terrible ideas, I've come up with something I believe is terribly good!
Book tête-à-TEA with Eva Pohler will broadcast once a week. I plan to upload videos every Sunday evening, so they'll be ready for viewing on Mondays. I have four content areas I want to explore--one for each week of the month.
I was going to wait until I lost weight (again--I keep gaining it back) but decided there was no time like the present. I've been wanting to launch a Youtube channel with regular content for years, so I'm going for it.
So, what can you expect from Book tête-à-TEA with Eva Pohler? Well, why don't I tell you...
The first Monday of each month will be all about the classics. I'll choose one of my favorite classic novels and give you a taste of what I went to college for ten years to learn: literary criticism. I'll give you a five-minute analysis of what I find interesting or important about the novel. I'll invite readers to comment with their thoughts and to make suggestions for which books they'd like me to discuss in future videos. It'll be just like book club! I'm excited to get the conversation going!
The second Monday of each month will be all about writing. The tips I plan to share aren't meant to be exclusive to writers of fiction. I believe in the old saying that the pen is mightier than the sword and that all of us can become better writers. I'll share tips I've learned throughout my twenty-year career in writing novels and teaching composition to university students. And don't worry! I'll find a way to make this fun as well as useful.
The third Monday of each month will be all about sneak peeks. Many of these will come from my own works in progress, but I hope to involve other authors, too. You might see an exclusive sneak peek from one of your (other) favorite authors on my channel!
The fourth Monday of each month will be all about challenges. Subscribers will be invited to comment and email me with questions and challenges for Truth or Dare. Ultimately, I'll decide what I will and will not share or do, but I promise to push myself out of my comfort zone to make this as fun as possible. I'm looking forward to seeing what some of you come up with. A few months ago, I had a reader challenge me to spend the night in a haunted hotel while attempting to communicate with ghosts (like my characters do in The Mystery House Series), and I'm thinking about accepting it. My first "Truth or Dare" video may be about that experience.
